SOURCE: MUSCHAMP OFFERED, CUTCLIFFE COACH IF UT TURNED DOWN
January 13, 2010 by chip_kain · Leave a Comment
A solid source with inside connections tells me that Tennessee has offered the job to Will Muschamp of Texas… however, if Muschamp turns down the Vols, then former UT offensive coordinator David Cutcliffe will be named the next head coach at the University of Tennessee Wednesday night or on Thursday.
That’s a solid choice for UT [...]

Eric Berry is a candidate for the Heisman in 2009. Those of us in this area already know this. What you might not know is how much money the University of Tennessee is spending on the campaign.
They’ve got catchy and well-written music videos, a commercial that’s a knock-off of the Geico caveman commercials, billboards [...]

Schultz: Georgia has dropped below the SEC’s bar
October 3, 2009 by chip_kain · Leave a Comment
The seat is getting warmer in Athens.
Atlanta Journal-Constitution columnist Jeff Schultz criticized Georgia this morning- and he had some pretty good points about the current state of the Bulldogs’ program. Mark Richt, pictured at left, isn’t on the hot seat, but it seems like there are more than a few restless Georgia fans.
Schultz didn’t hold [...]
Georgia hammered hard for celebrating potential game-winner
October 3, 2009 by chip_kain · 2 Comments
This was the most ridiculous call of the night/day in college football this weekend. The officiating crew- more specifically the guy who threw the flag against A.J. Green for excessive celebration after he scored the potential game-winner to put the Dawgs up over LSU 13-12 at the time- should be suspended. Mark Richt in the [...]

Oops, he did it again!
This time it wasn’t riding dirty, but it was being dirty towards the offense Tennessee is trying to execute that’s landed Gerald Jones in some hot water. Jones was quoted in the Knoxville News Sentinel as saying that he wasn’t pleased with the amount of touches he’s gotten thus far this [...]

The Gainesville Sun reported today that Florida quarterback Tim Tebow has rejoined his teammates yesterday… sort of. According to the Gainesville Sun, Tebow can’t practice outdoors because of the bright light, read or watch television as he recovers from the concussion he suffered at Kentucky over the weekend. If this were anyone other than the [...]

Sources: Crompton snubbed Manning week of Western Kentucky
September 30, 2009 by chip_kain · 18 Comments
What do you get when you put Peyton Manning and Jonathan Crompton in the same room? A ticked off former UT quarterback, that’s what.
At least that’s what some are saying from their last meeting with each other.
Remember when Manning was in town recently? Think back to the weekend Tennessee played Western Kentucky at Neyland Stadium- [...]
