tim-tebow-urban-meyerFlorida coach Urban Meyer believes in the power of positive thinking… he’s of the belief that Tim Tebow will be ready to go next week when Florida faces LSU.  According to wire reports:

Florida coach Urban Meyer said yesterday he thinks quarterback Tim Tebow will play in the top-ranked Gators’ next game, against No. 4 LSU on Oct. 10.

Meyer said Tebow has a headache, but is eating well. He believes – but doesn’t know – that his star player will be ready to go against the Tigers. The coach also said Tebow remembers the play in which he suffered a concussion during Saturday night’s win over Kentucky.

Concussions are nothing to laugh about- especially severe ones.

Other wire reports from around the nation:

  • The Big Ten suspended Ohio State safety Kurt Coleman for one game for a helmet-to-helmet hit and “targeting a defenseless opponent” in the ninth-ranked Buckeyes’ 30-0 win over Illinois.  Coleman, a team captain and second-team all-Big Ten selection a year ago, was flagged for the hit on Illinois backup quarterback Eddie McGee on the game’s final drive. Coleman will miss Ohio State’s game at Indiana on Saturday night.
  • Minnesota defensive end Cedric McKinley and backup safety Tim Dandridge were suspended for the next two games. Gophers coach Tim Brewster said the two will miss the games against Wisconsin and Purdue for unspecified violations of team rules and policies.
